Adrian Howkins

I teach environmental history at the University of Bristol in England.  My main research interests focus on the history of the Polar Regions, especially Antarctica.  I am a co-PI on the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term Ecological Research Site (MCM LTER), and I am working on a project to develop a digital archive of the McMurdo Dry Valleys.  I also have research interests in the history of national parks and protected areas, the environmental history of religion, and global food history.  I am developing a variety of classes at the University of Bristol, and I welcome Post Graduate Research applications in my fields of interest.
