I teach environmental history at the University of Bristol in England. My research interests focus on the history of the Polar Regions, especially Antarctica. I am a co-PI on the McMurdo Dry Valleys Long Term Ecological Research Site in Antarctica (MCM LTER), and I am developing a digital archive of the McMurdo Dry Valleys. I am a member of the Community of St Stephen’s here in Bristol and an associate member of the Iona Community in Scotland, and I’m interested in the intersection of religion and the environment. I enjoy food, culture, and sport and I’m married to Alison.
